The Addiction has started

October 2017

The days after going skydiving for the first time all I could think about was going again! I thought to myself that I would never want to go alone and only go on tandems, but the more I researched how to get your skydiving license the more I wanted to be brave and skydive on my own.
I called skydive Phx a few times to get pricing information, I decided I would pay for it as I go to budget but of course when I got there and realized how much you save with the all in packaged I said “f*** it” and paid for all of it. I did this because I knew I would get it done faster that way and all I want to do is jump!

The package includes two tandems first, then the 7 AFF levels and then enough jumps to get you to 25 jumps. You need 25 jumps to apply for your license.

I proceeded to start with my first tandem in the program… I was super excited because this time I got to wear an altimeter and pull! But… once the instructor started teaching me hand signals, how to practice touch and how to actually pull I felt super overwhelmed and nervous. (come to find out later this is beyond basic and fundamental)! But all went well and I was able to check my altitude, practice touch 3 times and pull on time at 6,000 feet!  It was amazing!

After this I went back for another tandem (my 3rd total), and then did my ground school where you learn a lot about skydiving like equipment, landing patterns, safety etc…When ground school is completed, then you can do ASP/AFF level 1 jump but it got too windy so I wasn’t allowed to jump unfortunately. I had a lot going on at this time, so I took almost 3 weeks off for traveling and my best friends wedding!
