I was able to do my recurrency jump at Eloy in May 2020.
I moved to Sacramento California in June 2020 where I started jumping at Lodi. There was a ton of fun people to jump with so I was able to be able to around so many fun people and do a lot of cool jumps. Throughout the summer and fall, I practiced and eventually started filming tandems which had been a goal of mine. I love it! It is so much fun to interact with the tandem passengers and get to capture their special moments.
Near the end of last season (October 2020), I got my brand new customer Vector Container! I downsized the main canopy in the process to an almost brand new Pilot 132 along with a new PD optimum 143. I love my new vector! It took me a long time to decide on the colors and design, but I am very happy with how it turned out. I sold my old rig at the end of 2021.
I also bought a new jumpsuit and camera wings! Now I have a loose suit mainly used for belly jumps and a tight suit for freefly jumps. I love my new camera wings. They are the mini-sized wing, but they are good for filming on belly only which is where my skill level is at. I only sit fly to video the deployment.
After a long winter of spending most weekends enjoying the snow once it started warming up, we had a safety day at Lodi. There was plenty of good conversations regarding different safety topics. For the first time ever I got to practice a cutaway from a hanging harness! This hanging harness was also able to spin. It is more realistic than practicing on the ground with a vest with a fake cutaway and reserve handle.
For the entire season, I only did about 100 jumps. It was really slow at Lodi and I only went to Davis a few times. I also did a lot of summer traveling.
