"discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment " Jim Rohn
Some of the first people I talked to in the skydiving world are from Pussfoot. We talked over social media about an event he was hosting in Arizona. Pussfoot came down to Arizona In November of 2017 to host an invasion at my home dropzone, Skydive Phoenix. I was a brand new skydiver, I just passed my AFF the weekend before. I was working on my solo student jumps during this boogie. Even though I wasn't able to jump with other people, I still had fun watching other jumpers do their dirt dives, talking about their jump plans and watching videos! It was a goal to be like those people! The Pussfoot boogie was so much fun. The boogie brought people together from all over the country and even from all over the world. I love how close knit and accepting the skydiving community is. I was immediately welcomed into the sky fam.
I met my friend John who lives on the east coast at the skydive phx pussfoot boogie. We became facebook friends and slowly started talking more and more realizing we have the same dedicated passion to skydiving. He told me some of the Pussfoot people are meeting in Florida in January. I said F*** it, found a cheap plane ticket and decided to go to Florida for the Everglades boogie which is at Spaceland FL. I am so excited!!! After I decided to go, my friend Johe from Boston decided to go and my other friend Jonathon from Phx decided to go as well!!! We are all soooo excited! There will be a handfull of Pussfoot people at this boogie!
I leave this week for Florida and I can't wait! I am flying into Ft. Lauderdale where my family is picking me up and driving me to the DZ. My cousin is doing his first tandem on Friday with me and my grandpa and possibly my uncle will be jumping Saturday! I am so excited to share my passion with my family, I get to spend time with friends and family in Fl and have an amazing time! I can't wait!
This trip is helping me reach my 2018 goals! I am traveling, jumping a lot, jumping at a new DZ and spending time with friends and family!!!
Skydive Spaceland Florida in Clewiston
Sometimes life is more fun when you have no plans. When a friend asked me to go to Florida I assumed I couldn't afford it, but I looked up tickets and it was cheaper than I thought... so I bought a plane ticket to Florida with no plan other than to meet my Pussfoot friends at the drop zone in Clewiston, Florida.
My friend Jonathon who also lives in AZ decided to go as well.. also with out a plan! We winged our entire weekend and we had an amazing time! We flew into Ft. Lauderdale Thursday night and slept at my cousins house. The next day we woke up early, loaded up the truck and my cousin drove us to Clewiston which was about an hour and a half away. My cousin, Robbie, said he would go skydiving because I wanted him to but he didn't really want to, he was nervous. Jonathon and I were like little kids on a long road trip during the car ride up! We were so excited to be a boogie and jump in a new place!!! When we got there, we were in love with how big the DZ was, we got registered and bought our first jump tickets! While Robbie was getting checked in for his tandem, Jonathon and I did our first jump! We did a simple jump with a two way exit and a few 360s just to warm up while pulling a little high to get used to the new landing area and pattern. It was a great first jump!
the next jump was with Robbie! Robbie absolutely loved it! In fact, he loved it so much he decided to come back the next day with my grandpa Ron and uncle Brian. My grandpa Ron also loved skydiving.. so much that Robbie and Ron are going again this weekend! I am so happy they love it as much as I do!!!The rest of the weekend was awesome in Florida! We jumped all day Friday and Saturday and had an awesome time hanging out at the DZ. Sunday morning my cousin Robbie came and picked us up and drove us back to Ft Lauerdale area. We took out the boat and jet skiis out on the ocean!!!
For not having plans... we had a truly amazing weekend!
I will definitely travel back to Skydive Spaceland! Everyone there was super friendly and helpful! I want to try to make it an annual trip for the Everglades boogie.
